From hunting to raising their cubs, polar bears are facing new challenges to their age-old way of life as Arctic winters warm and ice disappears. On the other hand, their ancestor, the grizzly, is finding a newly abundant world. “Nature” tracks both species at close range in “Arctic Bears,” premiering on PBS Sunday, February 17 at 8 p.m. (check local listings).
Academy Award-winning actor F. Murray Abraham narrates the film, part of the 26th season of the Peabody and Emmy award-winning series produced by Thirteen/WNET New York for PBS. Major support provided by Canon U.S.A. Inc., Toyota, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. For more information, visit http://www.pbs.org/nature
